"The Informant" & The Screenland Armour

Last night Toby and I went to see "The Informant", which was pretty fantastic. I mean, I'm a sucker for Steven Soderbergh films after falling head over heels in love with all of the Ocean's films. But Matt Damon really nails this one. I recommend it.

But what I recommend even more is a change of your usual movie theatre locale, for you Kansas Citians out there. We went north of the river to the Screenland Armour. (It's in North Kansas City (the actual town), which is just north of downtown, less than 5 minutes from the River Market area). It's a buck or two cheaper than your typical evening show ($8), has a FULL bar!, and has one row of plush leather recliners, first come first serve*. And the best part is the life-size (or bigger) mechanical statue of Oscar who turns gears to open the curtain when the movie starts. Seriously. That is badass. So next time you're going to see a movie, check out the Screenland Armour for your viewing pleasures.

*The Crossroads Screenland shares these amenities, the main difference being that it tends to show independent films while Armour shows your typical Hollywood films.
