Jambo Bwana

A few years ago at Jacob's Well's first ever Africa Night, a Kenyan member of our church taught us all a Swahili song called Jambo Bwana. It has come to mind often since then, but of course I could never recall all of the words. But now I am learning Swahili at KU, and my professor passed on to me a great video about Kenya featuring this very tune! Sing along....

Lyrics:
Jambo (Hello)
Jambo Bwana (Hello, sir)
Habari gani (How are you?)
Mzuri sana (I am fine)

Wageni, mwakaribishwa (Foreigners, you are welcome)
Kenya yetu hakuna matata (In our Kenya there is no problem)

Kenya nchi nzuri (Kenya is a good land)
Nchi ya maajabu (It is a wonderful land)
Nchi ya kupendeza (It is a pleasant land)
Kenya yetu hakuna matata (In our Kenya there is no problem)

Kenya wote (Everybody Kenya)
Jambo wote (Everybody Hello)

Hey, I remember going to the first Africa night at Jacob's Well and I even remember the song. As soon as I read the words I remembered the tune. I guess I do have a memory afterall. Good times. Aunt Katy
